On Constructions tendered for the Design & Construction Project for the Prince of Wales Hospital MRi Expansion project and were successfully awarded the project by Siemens Healthineers. The project involved numerous Consultants & Sub-contractors throughout both the Design & Construction phases in order to obtain BCA Compliance.

The project commenced with the removal & relocation of the existing basketball court on completion of the expansion project, Build & Installation of the New MRi Suite inclusive of the MRi Cabin, Scanning Control room, Cannulation Bay, Interview Room, Equipment Room Modifications to the existing Directors Office, Cleaners Room and Laundry. The build included the Future Proofing of the slab & cabin for the installation of a 7T MRi machine at a later date.

The expansion project was built to fire compliance standards & installation was carried out as per the Australian & New Zealand Building Standards.

The MRi Suite was constructed to be used as a research facility by UNSW & The Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick with the installation of the Siemens Healthineers 3T MAGNETOM Prisma MRi Scanner.

The construction site was located near sensitive & active surrounding hospital environments that included the physiotherapy rehabilitation ward & adjacent to the hospital loading dock – a key requirement was safety at all times to all building trade contractors, hospital staff, patients and visitors.

Coordination was an important aspect of this job as there was a strict timeline. The team at On Constructions successfully delivered the project within the time frames.

In a timely manner On Constructions engaged with the many stakeholders & Contractors in a collaborative way to ensure the project was delivered “On time and On budget.”

The project was completed with a refreshed landscaping finish and newly improved Basketball Court.
